Sonora floors are finished with durable, low-sheen architectural finishes designed to highlight natural timber character while protecting against daily living. A simple routine will keep your floor beautiful for generations.

Everyday cleaning

Sweep, dust-mop, or vacuum regularly using a soft-bristle brush attachment. Never use a vacuum with a rotating beater bar or hard plastic wheels on hardwood.

When wet cleaning is needed, mist a pH-neutral hardwood floor cleaner onto a microfiber mop head. Never wet-mop, saturate, or pour water directly onto the wood surface, and never use steam mops, ammonia, oil soaps, or abrasive scrubbers.

Protecting the floor

Fit heavy furniture legs and chair bases with dense wool or felt protective pads, and replace them periodically as they collect grit.

Place breathable natural-fiber walk-off mats at all exterior entryways to catch sand, moisture, and road salt. Avoid rubber-backed or non-ventilated synthetic mats that trap moisture against the wood.

Indoor climate control

Like all genuine wood products, your floor responds to seasonal humidity changes. Maintain year-round indoor relative humidity between 35% and 55% using a humidifier in dry winter months and dehumidification/air conditioning during humid Pacific Northwest summers.
