Sonora is an online-first premium hardwood flooring dealer founded in Seattle, Washington. We believe the website is the modern showroom, bringing architectural materials directly from responsible mills to your home.

Why We Started

Traditional hardwood flooring retail has long suffered from cluttered showrooms, artificial markup tiers, opaque supplier sourcing, and tiny sample swatches that cannot show how a floor truly breathes in a room. We built Sonora to offer a quieter, more truthful alternative: curated natural woods, transparent carton pricing, and generous sample boxes delivered straight to your door.

Our Material Ethos

We do not sell hundreds of indistinguishable variations. We curate three distinct collections that showcase the honest beauty of real wood:

• Cascade: Live-sawn European White Oak wide planks (up to 9½ inches wide) with thick, refinishable wear layers and ultra-matte UV urethane finishes.
• Sound: Architectural herringbone patterns and brushed European Oak tailored for timeless residential spaces.
• Ridge: Solid 3/4-inch American White Oak sourced from sustainably managed domestic forests, built to be sanded and refinished for generations.

The Sample-First Experience

Wood is a living material that reflects the changing light of your room, your paint tones, and your furnishings. We encourage every customer to begin with our sample box: choose your first 5 samples completely free, lay them on your subfloor, and live with them morning and evening before placing your project order.
